Samantha Roberts - Chief and Executive Director
Currently a junior at the University of Arizona, Samantha became a certified EMT at the end of her senior year of high school. Originally from Connecticut, she came to the University of Arizona to pursue a Dual Degree BS/BSHS in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science and Physiology. She plans to attend medical school to pursue a career in Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine. Samantha joined University EMS her freshman year and was quickly promoted to the positions of Personnel Officer and shift supervisor. She is currently employed as an EDT in the Banner University Medical Center Emergency Department and as an AHA CPR instructor for Heart Savers. She looks forward to serving the community and contributing to UEMS' growth in the coming years.
Hailey Blunt - Assistant Chief
Hailey is currently a senior at the University of Arizona pursuing a BS in Physiology with minors in Spanish and Biochemistry. She has always had a passion for medicine and plans to go onto a Physician’s Assistant program after graduating from the U of A. Hailey obtained her EMT certification from Paradise Valley Community College in the summer of 2014 with hopes of gaining hands on medical experience. She was hired by University EMS in September of 2014 and served as the Captain of Logistics during the 2015-2016 school year. Hailey is committed to creating an agency that provides the best patient care possible and looks forward to helping UEMS grow as Assistant Chief.
Jeffrey Tolson - Deputy Chief
Jeff has lived in Arizona for eleven years now and has been at the University of Arizona for the past two. He is completing his junior year of college with a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Sciences through the department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. After receiving his EMT certification in September of 2015, he quickly fell in love with emergency medicine and plans to become an Emergency Department Physician after completing medical school. This is his second year with University EMS and has high hopes for how this agency can grow and continue to help its community
Nicole Taylor - Executive Advisor
A Tucsonan born and raised, Nikki came to the University of Arizona in the Fall of 2015. She is currently in the UA BSN program and has completed her major in Biological Anthropology with an emphasis in Human Biology and minor in Physiology. Her plan after graduation is to pursue a career as a flight nurse. Nikki joined University EMS in February of 2014 as a First Responder with no previous patient care experience. She earned her EMT certification in the summer of 2014 and quickly became a Shift Supervisor after her exmplarly performance in the field. Nikki was named the Deputy Chief of Operations for the 2015-2016 school year and was also awarded the title of 2015 EMS Provider of the Year for University EMS. She is continuing on with University EMS as a shift supervisor and in an advisory role for the 2016 - 2017 school year. She is excited to continue serving the University of Arizona as she cmpletes nursing school in the coming years.
Kathleen Murphy - Captain of Training
Kathleen is currently a Junior at the University of Arizona pursuing a BS in Physiology. She plans to attend PA school in hopes of becoming an emergency medicine PA. Kathleen joined UEMS in February of 2015 as an EMT and was later promoted to Field Training Officer and Field Supervisor. In January of 2016, Kathleen was promoted to Captain of Training where she hopes to use her knowledge and skill set to prepare UEMS responders for any situation. She looks forward to helping the agency grow while providing high quality care to the community.
Cameron Lamp - Captain of Personnel
Cameron graduated from Cactus Shadows High School in May of 2013 and moved to Tucson that August to attend the University of Arizona. Cameron is currently a senior, majoring in Physiology with minors in Mathematics and Spanish. He joined University EMS in September 2014 and obtained his EMT-B certification from Warrior School in July 2015. Cameron became a Supervisor in March and Captain of Personnel in May of 2016. He is applying to medical and PA schools this year and hopes to pursue a career in cardiology. Cameron also volunteers as a Chest Compression Only CPR Educator with the Sarver Heart Center. Cameron will graduate in May of 2017, but looks forward to serving the Tucson community through University EMS for his last undergraduate year.
Jacob Copple - Captain of Logistics
Growing up in Arizona and moving to Tucson in 2012, Jacob has held strong ties to both the Tucson and University of Arizona communities. He is currently a senior pursuing degrees in Biological Sciences (BS) and Studio Art (BA) with plans for medical school after graduation. In 2015 Jacob gained his National and State EMT certifications and joined UEMS shortly thereafter. In 2016 Jacob was promoted to Field Supervisor and in May of that year he was promoted to Captain of Logistics. Jacob is excited be benefiting the community through this position.
